The OPPO VOOC (Voltage Open Loop Multi-step Constant-Current Charging)Â Flash Charging system is a proprietary rapid-charge technology created by OPPO Electronics, which, at present, is able to charge certain OPPO devices from 0 to 75% in just 30 minutes. In contrast to Qualcomm’s QuickCharge technology increasing the voltage during fast charging, VOOC uses a higher current than normal USB 2.0 charging.
Thus, VOOC operates at 5V and 4A. For transferring higher currents of 4A, VOOC requires both a special wall adapter and special cables. The VOOC Flash Charge circuit technology reportedly lowers the temperature of the charging adapter, and creates an interface from the adapter to the phone, which improves the speed and safety of the charge.
OnePlus’ Dash Charge
Since VOOC is a proprietary technology, only OPPO devices officially support it. But OPPO has licensed VOOC to OnePlus , which markets the same technology as Dash Charge. Currently, Dash Charge is supported by the OnePlus 3, 3T, 5 and 5T, claiming to charge “a day’s power in half an hour”.
Less Time, More Charge
A thirty-minute charge will get the mobile phone to 75% of battery. With 4x faster charging speed than conventional chargers, the VOOC flash charging system will have your phone ready to go when you are on your way out the door.
Safety Guaranteed
Compared with the conventional high current protection, VOOC uses 5 levels of protective layering from the adaptor to the port and interior of the phone. VOOC has replaced the voltage reducing circuit with an MCU, effectively preventing your mobile phone from overheating while charging.
Five Layers of Protection
- Voltage Tester built into Adapter
- VOOC Identification built into Adapter
- VOOC Identification built into Phone
- VoltageTest built into Phone
- Fuse built into Phone
Smaller and Smarter
Smaller and Smarter, the same amazing charging speed, twice the convenience. With the LED indicator, you do not need to activate the display to check the status of the phones charge. The indicator can notify you whether the USB is plugged into the VOOC. Smart life begins with “small” things.
