What's New?

Samsung today announced that its new 12-gigabit LPDDR5 mobile DRAM has begun mass production, optimization for AI and 5G characteristics in potential smartphones including the upcoming Galaxy Note10. With data rates of 5,500Mb / second, LPDDR5 is 30 per cent faster than its predecessor, and it arrives less than six months after the 12GB LPDDR4X enters into mass production.

Jung-bae Lee, VP of DRAM Product & Technology, Samsung, has unveiled the latest LPDDR5 memory based on the 10-nm category second generation method. It supports ‘ ultra high-definition audio and machine learning ‘ and increases battery life significantly.

Samsung claims that 12Gb LPDDR5 can pass information to a 12GB bundle in a second. With the integration of a fresh circuit layout with improved clocking, instruction and energy consumption, the fresh computer utilizes up to 30 percent less energy.

Once it has been constructed (surprisingly next year), Samsung could transfer manufacturing to its second factory in Pyeongtaek depending on demand. In order “to consolidate its competitive edge on the world memory market,” the company is preparing the 16GB LPDDR5 release.
