Nokia leads the global smartphone software and security update rankings. People keep their telephones longer-there’s now nearly 30 months of upgrading in the US, Europe and China. This emphasizes the assistance of software, because after two years, the cellphone feelings will continue to be new. Counterpoint Research has gathered information on the multiple Android brands ‘ upgrade timetable, which tracks how many devices have been upgraded to or introduced with Android 9 Pie, concentrating on model versions since Q3 2018. The update velocity has also been monitored. HMD and Nokia phones are the undisputed victor. At present, 96% of the Nokias started last year since the third half are operating Pie. Pie. Although the following graph is remarkable, it effectively averages HMD a little–not just early 2018 designs are operating Pie on even Nokia 6 and 8 from 2017. With 89% and 84% of their devices operating Pie respectively, Samsung and Xiaomi round off the top 3 devices. Huawei is near at 82 percent as well. Then there’s a huge drop, but the entire history isn’t told by the graph. Some products are not included, OnePlus in specific should be 100%-not many designs launched, but all designs as OnePlus 3 (included) are currently on Pie. Nokia and Xiaomi support their midranger also very well, which does not apply to all products. Actually, only about a quarter of sub-$200 designs usually run Android 9 Pie. HMD is queen on this scale with more than 90% of Nokia’s devices receiving the overhaul in the $200 section. Highly ranked are Xiaomi and Lenovo. It is not only about updating, but also how lengthy consumers have to wait. It is essential. The response is “not forever” for Nokia’s holders. It lasted less than a year for HMD to supply 94% of its designs. In that respect Samsung is quite slower–even if it finally publishes Pie, it requires more than 12 months for most devices.
