All Three iPhones will support 5G launching in 2020, Ming-Chi Kuo

Apple analyse, Ming-Chi Kuo, said that Apple has now revised their predictions by providing support for the next generation network, but that Apple will fit two of its 2020 iPhones with 5g modems.

Kuo believes Apple is better suited to developing its 5g iPhones following Apple’s purchase of Intel’s smartphone modem company.

Furthermore, Kuo forecasts the price of 5 G Android phones to start at about $250-350 by the second half of the year 2020 that will force Apple to provide 5 G on its entry-level phone.

In addition, 5G will be seen by customers as a main purchasing point in 2020 and Apple can benefit from company subsidies. 5G phones for Apple also have a advantage in their potential for the development of their emerging AR ecosystems.

Kuo claims that the first 5 G iPhone has sub-6GHz features rather than quicker mmWave technologies. This helps Apple to reduce costs in its original 5 G iPhones roll-out. Despite the Intel chip acquisition, Apple is reported to plan to use the Qualcomm modems in its first batch of 5 G iPhones and to develop its own modems that might be available in 2021.
